Well after that rather brief heatwave a few weeks ago I think we can all safely agree that autumn is now upon us.  Whilst it might not be bitterly cold yet I’m sure it’s just around the corner so now is definitely the time to be sorting out your winter warmers for your little ones.  Can I suggest a virtual trip to My Mother Nature?

My Mother Nature sells a range of clothing for bump, baby and beyond, up to the age of 4 years, and they have a new range of gorgeous sweatshirts in from Olive & Moss that are perfect for keeping your little ones warm during the winter ahead.  Take a look at my Little Man sporting the Louis The Lion version:

Now this adorable sweatshirt is available in four designs – Louis The Lion and Tarquin The Tiger for the boys, and Collette The Cow and Betty The Bunny for the girls. I think whoever decided that a Tiger should be called Tarquin is clearly in the right job!  The sweatshirts are 100% cotton and have the character appliqued on the front.  They are available from size 6 months to 3 years. My Little Man is modelling the 12-18month size and it is a nice generous fit. The Louis The Lion design features the colourful Louis on the front with flapping ears and a matching bright yellow hood lining.  My Little Man was cosy and warm but still free to move around. It makes an ideal alternative to a thick coat on milder days and could easily be used all year round.

Check out the full range, plus My Mother Natures other lovely products on their website. You can also follow them on Twitter @MyMother_Nature.

Sussex Baby & Toddler Show Preview: Made By Alex

With the baby show just over a week away its time for another preview – Made By Alex.

From an early age Alex was encouraged to 'Make something special, something personal, something unique' instead of buying, so when she gave birth to her daughter in 2008 she decided to make her little girls clothes as opposed to buying them.  Shop bought clothes just weren't for her so she started off making dresses, then dungarees and hats. She even jazzed up shop bought tshirts.  Now Alex sells her creations after encouragement from friends, and all her items are totally unique.  Alex often encourages the buyer to get involved with the design process so they're getting precisely what they want.

Alex sent my Little Man this hat to test out – not the greatest modeller of hats I'm afraid!

What I really love about this hat is that its reversible.  On the one side there's the denim design with the red car, and on the other a more summery cottom design with cars.  And its totally unique – no other hat will look like this!  The quality of the craftsmanship is amazing – it certainly outshines the other hats we've previously bought from highstreet stores and supermarkets.

Head along to the Sussex Baby & Toddler Show on September 17th and meet Alex herself and take a look at her beautiful creations.

Made By Alex can be found online, on Twitter, and on Facebook.

Introducing My Little Pickle!!!

Tomorrow (September 2nd) sees the launch of “My Little Pickle” – an online boutique selling clothing for 0-2 year olds.
Set up by Sarah Sherlock following the birth of her first child, Sarah wants to fill what she saw as a gap in the UK baby clothing market.  She was disappointed with the clothing choice available to her, and after a trip to Europe she discovered that there were clothes out there that she needed to bring to this country.  “A trip to Europe confirmed how limited the range of childrenswear is in the UK, and I decided to bring the choice, quality and styles available to our market.”
As well as providing a wide range of designs and pieces that you won’t find on your high street Sarah is keen to provide ethical clothing, and her website also boasts a fantastic range of organic clothing, something she thinks is important for parents. “Ethical issues are more important in the babywear market than in other clothing markets, reflecting the heightened awareness of young, educated mothers.”

Above all Sarah wants to bring beautiful products to parents and their children. “My objective is to provide customers with the best products and service. We are committed to bringing fresh, colourful and exciting new brands from around the world to the UK, and I hope you love the result as much as I do”

In addition to the gorgeous clothes and fun footwear “My Little Pickle” also sells a range of accessories including towels, blankets, socks and tights, and a selection of soft and knitted toys.
Here is a selection of my personal favourites from the boutique:
